Use these templates when dispatching deep-review lane tasks.

The blocks below extend the generic Cross-cutting lane template for each canonical lane in REVIEW_LANE_GUIDE.md. Inject the matching Focus, DO, DON'T, and Output limit directives into the dispatched prompt.
Lane: claims_vs_evidence
Focus: audit whether abstract, introduction, discussion, and conclusion claims are fully supported by the results, appendices, and evaluation evidence actually present in the paper.
DO:
- quote the claim verbatim and the supporting evidence verbatim
- flag overclaim, unsupported extrapolation, claim wording that outruns the data, and missing caveats; classify the over-claim type (causal / firstness / universality / effect-size / temporal / application / comparison) and take the conservative rewrite from
OVER_CLAIM_GUARD.md - emit over-claim findings as
comment_type: claim_accuracywithallowed_wording(the bounded rewrite) andforbidden_wording(the overreaching phrasing) - when a claim cites a specific table or figure, verify the cited artifact exists and contains the cited number
DON'T:
- do not flag stylistic emphasis as overclaim when the underlying evidence is present (see the reverse-calibration list in
OVER_CLAIM_GUARD.md— strong wording that the evidence earns is not a finding) - do not propose evidence the paper does not contain
- do not duplicate findings already raised by the methodology or notation lane
Output limit: max 8 issues; surface only the strongest claim-evidence gaps. Recurring weak phrasing collapses into one issue with multiple example locations.
Lane: notation_and_numeric_consistency
Focus: cross-check notation, equations, tables, appendix values, and prose descriptions for contradictions or unstable terminology.
DO:
- record symbol drift across sections (same concept, different symbol)
- record prose vs formula mismatch
- record aggregate totals that do not reconcile with subtotals
- record appendix values that contradict headline values
DON'T:
- do not flag intentional notation redefinitions that the paper explicitly announces
- do not flag OCR artifacts as authorial inconsistency unless the issue survives the most charitable correction
Output limit: max 10 issues; group repeated symbol drift into one issue with all occurrences listed.
Lane: evaluation_fairness_and_reproducibility
Focus: audit whether comparisons are fair, reproducible, and methodologically symmetric across methods, baselines, and ablations.
DO:
- flag unequal comparison conditions (different data, compute, retries)
- flag asymmetric access to tuning or pretraining
- flag missing baseline justification or omitted prior art
- flag headline results without enough evaluation detail to reproduce
DON'T:
- do not flag missing comparisons that the paper explicitly scopes out
- do not duplicate findings already raised by
prior_art_and_novelty_grounding
Output limit: max 8 issues; one issue per comparison axis (data, compute, hyperparameters, retries).
Lane: self_standard_consistency
Focus: check whether the paper applies to itself the same standards it expects from prior work or competing methods.
DO:
- flag statistical rigor demanded from others but absent in the paper itself
- flag fairness criteria applied asymmetrically
- flag limitations or risks acknowledged for prior work but ignored for the proposed method
DON'T:
- do not flag context-appropriate scope differences as inconsistency
- do not redo the
evaluation_fairness_and_reproducibilityaudit
Output limit: max 6 issues; this lane is intentionally narrow.
Lane: prior_art_and_novelty_grounding
Focus: audit whether the paper's novelty claim is well-grounded in the cited prior art and whether the most relevant competing work is adequately discussed.
DO:
- flag missing or out-of-date prior art on the central method or claim
- flag overstated novelty when a cited prior work already covers the contribution
- flag selective citation patterns that bias the framing
DON'T:
- do not invent prior art not actually known
- do not duplicate findings already raised by the literature reviewer agent
Output limit: max 6 issues; cite specific prior-work titles or DOIs when possible.
Lane: pre_submission_readiness
Focus: surface high-signal PRESUBMISSION script findings that affect the paper's readiness for submission (full/editor focus only).
DO:
- promote Critical or Major mechanical issues such as em dash overuse, repeated AI-tone vocabulary, abstract result gaps, or source hygiene problems
- preserve the
[Script]provenance and severity assigned by the presubmission script
DON'T:
- do not absorb methodology, theory, literature, or claim-validity reviewer work
- do not run when
--focus methodology|theory|literature|logicis selected; keep these findings only in Phase 0 automated context
Output limit: max 12 issues; group repeated mechanical findings (e.g. several em-dash overuses) into one issue per pattern.
